The Spruce Pine Potters Market is a unique gathering of our region’s greatest potters and clay artists. Enjoy wonderful food and beautiful handmade pottery on a colorful autumn weekend. Admission is free and lunches are available for purchase on site.
Visitors to the show can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a beautiful piece of art donated by four of our participating artists. The winner does not need to be present at the time of the drawing.

They are calling it the PreHEAT of western North Carolina. In and around the Asheville area, participants and organizers of this pre-conference have assembled the region’s top wood firers and a host of national and international guests for seven days of complete immersion into the exciting world of wood firing. They have created an action-packed week, from June 1st through June 7th, of programming full of firings, exhibition receptions, demonstrations, studio tours, feasts, parties, and music, which promises to offer something special for everyone involved!
June 5th - Ken Sedberry will be doing demos and participant plate decorating.
June 6th - will begin loading kiln in the morning.
June 7th - will fire!

The Toe River Studio Tour is perhaps the largest and the longest running studio tour in the country; you will find craftspeople and artists in nearly every medium, many tops in their field and several new-to-the-tour participants.
FREE, self-guided, this adventure will lead you to some unique places situated between Mt. Mitchell and Roan Mountain. Visitors travel through valleys, past streams, across rivers, over hilltops, and experience breathtaking mountain vistas as they those many out-of-the-way studios. Meet the artists, see where they create and where they live.
